Antoni Lorente Martinez

Toni is a first-year PhD student, advised by Dr. Mark Coté (King’s College London) and Dr. Jordi Vallverdú (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona). His work focuses on developing an experimental philosophical approach to the mind via AI and cognitive science, in order to explore the nature and limits of philosophical inquiry. In particular, he is currently researching the relationship between empirical findings and theory development. He is also interested in AI safety and the epistemological role of fiction.

Before starting his PhD, Toni graduated in Aerospace Engineering (2017), and obtained an MA in Political Philosophy at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2019), and an MSc in Philosophy of Science at the London School of Economics (2020). You can read one of his last articles here.
