Four New PhD Students at CHAI

10 Aug 2022

Jakub Grudzien, Erik Jenner, Shreyas Kapur, and Johannes Treutlein will be starting their PhDs at UC Berkeley this upcoming fall semester.

Jakub Grudzien is a first-year PhD student at Berkeley AI Research, advised by Pieter Abbeel. His goal is to discover the underlying algorithmic principles of intelligence and use them to develop robust AI systems that learn to solve problems from variously acquired data. Erik Jenner is a first-year PhD student advised by Stuart Russell. He is interested in developing techniques for aligning AI with human values that could scale to very powerful future AI systems. Visit his page to view his biography.

Shreyas Kapur is a first-year PhD student at Berkeley AI advised by Stuart Russell. He is interested in developing algorithms that can learn to construct rich, interpretable models of the world as quickly and robustly as humans do.
